Our Milk - Fresh, all natural goat milk is similar in appearance and taste to whole cow's milk. Our milk is produced free of hormones and antibiotics. Our goats are fed chemical-free feed, sunflower seeds, alfalfa hay and graze freely over the ranch. No chemicals are used in or around our barns or property. Everyone of our goats is named and valued for the delicious milk they provide.
Goat milk contains only a trace amount of the major protein found in cow milk and is therefor a good substitute for those allergic to this protein. The fat globules in goat milk are smaller and more easily digested than that found in cow milk. Goat milk also has unique buffering qualities. These qualities make goat milk a boon for those with weak digestive systems, convalescents, and those with ulcers. Goat milk fatty acids have a unique metabolic ability which is believed to limit cholesterol deposits in body tissue.
Goat milk is also recommended for infants when they switch to whole milk from nursing or formula, or if a mother is unable to nurse. It is less congesting than cow milk and more satisfying than soy or non-dairy beverages.
Goat milk has 13% more calcium, 25% more vitamin B6, 47% more vitamin A and 27% more selenium than cow milk. It also has more chloride, copper, manganese, potassium and niacin.
While all milk contains lactose sugar, goat milk, due to its ease of digestion, leaves less residue in the colon, reducing fermentation and lessening bloating, gas, diarrhea and constipation.
We sell our all natural fresh, raw goat milk by the gallon or half gallon. State approved containers are provided and the milk must be purchased at our location. We are open at the ranch for customers to come out and buy milk, cheese and soap on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10 am to 6 pm, but please call (325) 450-6861 first and make sure we have product available.
